Janambhumi Janakalyan Trust
The UPSC (IAS) Scholarship Programme
The Janambhumi Janakalyan Trust, the social welfare wing of the Janambhumi Group of Publications has been guiding and sponsoring students for UPSC (IAS) Examination since 2004 through selection test and interview. The Trust provides the complete expenditure for food and accommodation during the coaching period along with the coaching fees in New Delhi for selected students.
A positive impact of the Trust’s endeavors has been observed over the years throughout the state. In the initial years of the programme, the awareness level was so low that students those who have not cleared even the 10th standard applied for the selection test held by the Trust. On the contrary, now we see that public as well as students are much aware of the examination, its procedure and its outcome.
The number of students appearing for UPSC(IAS) exams has been increasing every year with a resultant increased success rate .This has immensely encouraged the Trust.
The key to success in the competitive examinations is not super brilliance. An average student with determination, dedication, hard work and honesty can easily achieve this goal. There is no dearth of students with potential and talents to take on the challenges of this examination, all that is required is a little guidance and encouragement. Therefore, the Trust has planned to change the format and time of the selection test for the scholarships from this year. The new format will be a complete selection programme of six months duration. This will help the Trust to judge the sincerity and dedication of the applicant towards the examination while applicants will have a better knowledge of the exams.
The form fill up for the selection test is changed to November-December this year instead of March-April every year so that the aspirants get more time for selection test which will be held in the month of June of the following year. As the selection test is in the format of the UPSC(IAS) exam so the students will get a fair idea of the examination. Moreover, from January to April a series of questions will be published in The Dainik Janambhumi so that along with the aspirants undergraduate students can also practice these questions and begin their preparation while they are studying in college.
